CV Tips
Your Curriculum Vitae is your first point of contact with a potential employer, therefore it needs to stand out in order to secure an interview.
Here are some key points to remember when writing your CV:
- Presentation counts with a CV. Ensure your CV is neat, clear and concise.
- Be job specific - Ensure that your CV is tailored for the job you are currently applying.
- Address all person specifications and job description points and keep it relevant to the job. Give examples, if possible, where you have demonstrated the job description point in your previous work or experience.
- Skills and experience should be linked into the position for which you are applying.
- Do not leave 'gaps' in employment without explanation.
- Important information should be included on the CV first and less important information towards the bottom.
- Keep up to date with your current skills and jobs.
- Proof read for spelling and grammar mistakes.
- Sell yourself!
